Visually displaying something anywhere has made a tremendous increase in the area of advertisement. The only method of advertising known to the ancients was the word of mouth. We are not more amused by the simplicity of the ancients than we are amazed at the magnitude of the modern systems of advertising. Advertisements on or before Christmas leaves a remarkable impression in our minds for a very long time.
